ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we rethink "structure" as we move from a dyadic system of a research relationship to a triadic system. Traditionally, research relationships were known to have included the exchanges between researchers and participants. We claim that such relationships are only partial representations of the research’s interactions. That is, we have considered several systems of relationships including those between researcher and participants, between research and the phenomena under study, and between participants and research phenomena. Such a triadic system is a valuable source of knowledge and should be considered as such.
