ABSTRACT
It is more of a cliché than even I can stand to say that the environment faced by business is more uncertain and turbulent than has ever been the case before. It’s just that it happens to be true (as are so many clichés, which may be why they achieve that status). Change has always been a constant challenge for managers, but the degree and types of changes are more radical and potentially more surprising than in the past. This seems to be the way things will be in the future – stability and predictability have disappeared for most of us.
