ABSTRACT

In the new world in which we do business, one of the recurring themes is privacy and particularly the rights of individuals to privacy regarding their personal data and behaviour. Whether individuals surrender their personal information voluntarily (in using social media where this is the deal), involuntarily (in online or offl ine purchasing), or semi-voluntarily (entering a retail

store that obviously has CCTV) and whether they know their data have been surrendered for others to use, business and government are hungry for those data and in some cases are not too choosy how they get them.
