It is at just such a moment that the recurrent childhood protest, ‘You see, I have come to something!’ would enter the here and now; at just such a moment that the analysis could begin in earnest. And it is at just such a moment that coming to grips with one’s unconscious motivations in the here-and-now becomes a live option.
