The push toward Nazism: youths and leaders

Had Germans heeded the words that the 33-year-old Karl Earth spoke in 1919 at a small conference in an insignificant German town, the Nazi nightmare might not have occurred. Alas, most did not. Instead, they listened to those whom the youths favored. A fiery dialectic developed whereby Bünde leaders, Nationalists, and National Socialists listened to youths who listened to them.
