ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the connections between scholarship and research on race and ethnicity with the related bodies of work on nationalism, national identity, and various forms of ethno-nationalism. In the current environment, there is increasing interest in exploring these connections, and the chapter discusses these efforts to bring the two areas of research together and suggests possible avenues for further conversations and debates about collaborative research agendas. We argue that in the context of contemporary social and political debates, there is a clear need for a conversation about how we can better understand the intersections between race and ethnicity and nationalism.
