ABSTRACT

The number one sexual problem facing American couples is inhibited sexual desire (ISD). The second most common problem is discrepancies in sexual desire. Pundits laugh and ask, “What do you expect from people married 20 years?” In truth, these are not the couples who are in the greatest trouble. Desire problems plague newly married couples as well as unmarried couples who have been together 2 years or longer. Desire problems occur among all types of couples and all age groups but are most destructive in the early years of marriage.
