ABSTRACT

Having lived and worked abroad for more than two decades myself, I feel very strongly about the strategic need to transcend culture and to refocus as quickly as possible on the informal, iterative learning process of strategic thinking. I do not mean ignoring culture, but that we must acknowledge and appreciate culture within the larger learning context. The intent of strategic development is to increase the capacity for learning to think strategically, and culture is just one, albeit signifi cant, piece.
