ABSTRACT

In summary, this chapter has provided a brief overview of some of the neurocognitive methods that are useful in the study of second language lexical processing. These methods are becoming increasingly accessible, given reductions in the costs associated with them, and the more widespread availability of training for researchers who have no prior experience with them. It is likely that some of the conclusions previously reached on the basis of behavioral data alone will be qualified by subsequent converging evidence from cognitive neuroscientific measures.
