ABSTRACT

The overall view from Joe’s data was one of resonance, as seen in Figure 7.1. However, what distinguished Joe’s Narrative Ecology from the others was the level of convergence between practices that he described as part of his extensive use of social networking tools and his professional practices, demonstrated throughout the intervention. His prior experience of using the tools enabled him both to exploit the tools effectively within the intervention and to respond to the children’s needs. These three mediating influences – prior experience of the tools, the affordances of the tools and his perception of the children’s needs – formed the primary mediating factors within the professional intervention, with much of the data emphasising this (Figure 7.1).
