ABSTRACT

To express age in Russian the person whose age is being referred to goes into the dative case (e.g. мне, Ивану, Наташе), the number of years appears in the nominative case, and the word for ‘year’ goes into the nominative singular (год), genitive singular (года) or genitive plural (лет), as appropriate (see Unit 1):
