ABSTRACT

This Appendix maps out and classifies the range of ‘quality tools’ that are so far being used not only to measure, but also manage quality across the various built environment disciplines. The classification relates to that discussed in Chapter 10, namely tools that have been developed to measure product, service and organisational quality, which can be further distinguished by the level of data to which they apply-low-level intermediatelevel and high-level data tools. The classification into low, intermediate and high levels is not ‘hard and fast’ but has been made for ease of navigation among the wide-ranging tools reviewed. The list of tools is not exhaustive but instead reflects the range of tools that have provided useful points of reference during the course of the research. Many are therefore also discussed elsewhere in the book.
