ABSTRACT

In any other country it would be a paradox. As Russia’s Boris Yeltsin and Prime Minister Sergei Kiriyenko pleaded with world leaders in July 1998 to pressure the IMF to lend it $20 billion for a financially strapped Russia, Forbes Magazine released its list of the world’s wealthiest 200.1 For the first time it included five Russian businessmen.
