It is imperative that schools find effective ways to retain teachers, but it is neither possible nor necessarily desirable to retain all teachers … While the term retention has positive connotations, suggesting that retention is inherently ‘good’, it is worth noticing that school administrators and policymakers are interested in the retention of quality teachers.
