ABSTRACT

This chapter engages with aspects of transnational youth justice (in international usage “youth justice” is the preferred terminology and not “juvenile justice”) within a thematic framework. It focuses on topics rather than individual countries and is not intended to be a comparative discussion of transnational youth justice. Rather, it seeks to explore themes that connect youth justice with policy initiatives, youth legislation, international norms concerning child rights and child protection, and the articulation between youth and culture.
