ABSTRACT

When Amelia's parents asked to ‘friend’ her on Facebook she postponed the inevitable. She had long enjoyed Facebook as a space that she and her friends in Manila and abroad inhabited. Amelia mulled over the fact that, once upon a time, Facebook was for the young, but now everyone was using it. She knew it was only a matter of days before she would have to ‘friend’ them. Until then, she continued to develop her camera phone images that, when uploaded, always received numerous comments and compliments. She wondered if her parents would understand these images and what they meant to her and her peers.
