ABSTRACT

This chapter has a more practical approach than the previous one, and focuses directly on practical animal husbandry. Much attention is paid to the animals' nutrient needs and other aspects on the feeding of ruminants and non-ruminants. Similarly, you will learn about the importance of having access to sufficient water of good hygiene quality, for the animals to drink and for cleaning and other needs. Outdoor and indoor forms of animal farming were touched on in Chapter 15, but some attention is also paid to them here before the discussion turns to matters of animal health.
