ABSTRACT
October offers an array of interesting festivals which provide the opportunity to get practical and construct something. There's something special about using your hands to form something out of nothing. Working with the surroundings and using them to produce something that helps to connect us to the world and the beliefs of others gives us a greater understanding of life. So it makes sense that when we get children involved in the practical construction of an object, they will gain a lot. Not only do they learn about the subject, but they use a range of creative skills and work together to produce the end result. Provide a narrative structure to help them piece their ideas together and you have a recipe for lots of fun!
