ABSTRACT

The Druggist: His Business is to buy up, in large Quantities, all manner of uncompounded Drugs, both foreign and domestic; these he sells to the Apothecary, who compounds them: Yet, generally speaking, he compounds Drugs for Sale in his own Shop, like the Apothecary. The Druggist is not supposed to know any thing of the uses or Properties of Drugs: He only buys them as a Merchant, and disposes of them as a Commodity ... It is a very profitable Business ... their Returns sometimes Cent. per Cent. and seldom below Fifty.
