It was the fall of 1967. Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King were still alive
and so was Hubert Humphrey, politically. Abby Hoffman and Jerry Rubin
were not yet household names, let alone principals in the Chicago Eight drama.
The country was still four months away from the beginning of that fateful year
of 1968, and I was just beginning my teaching career-a 22-year-old neophyte.
