Parent-Child and Child-Child Play in Diverse Cultural Contexts

Researchers from different disciplines have recorded children’s modes of play behavior with increased accuracy because of more sophisticated methods and culture-specific conceptual frameworks (see Krishnakumar, Buehler, & Barber,2004; van Vijer & Leung, 1997). These researchers have helped to move forward an understanding of universal play behavior.
