ABSTRACT

The structural inequalities evidenced earlier along the pipeline hinder Chicana/o access to postsecondary education.2 In terms of the number of doctorates produced over the last 20 years, Chicanas/os remain the most underrepresented population compared to White, African American, Asian American, Native American, and Latina/o women and men.3 Chicanas/os earned 1% of all the doctorate degrees produced in U.S. universities from 1990–2000.4
