ABSTRACT
We do need some sort of notion of human nature. So far I have been meeting general objections to this idea and trying to clear up some difficulties about how we should shape it. I shall return to these problems in Part III, and discuss more fully how the idea of our nature can guide us practically, how we must inevitably invoke it when we decide how we ought to live.
