ABSTRACT
In recent years, many researchs around the world have began to explore the use of lowcost and low-energy substitute construction materials. Among the many possibilities for such substitutions, bamboo, which is one of the fastest growing plant, coconut fibres and sisal have got a great economic potential. These materials have been used in constructions of bridges and houses for thousands of years in Asia.
