ABSTRACT
The vertically perforated ‘V’ bricks Fig 1 were designed by the Building Research Station to provide at lower cost, the equivalent of traditional cavity walling by a single leaf wall. Advantages claimed compared to a cavity wall having brick inner and outer leaves are:- (i) increased output of approximately 30%. (ii) saving in mortar of approximately 20%. (iii) a considerable saving in weight.
