ABSTRACT
Flat roofs may be constructed of timber, concrete or steel decking. In practice the roof surface is not finished level, but given a slight fall to allow water to drain away to some form of gutter. Diagram 1 of Approved Document F of the Building Regulations indicates the need for roof ventilation to pitched and f flat roofs and the need to provide at least 50mm air space above the insulation.
