ABSTRACT

This book sets out to help teachers improve the quality of history teaching and learning as the history subject manager in a primary school. In order to become an effective subject manager, a teacher will need to have specific specialist knowledge of history, an enthusiasm and commitment to its place in the school curriculum and an enduring interest in reviewing practices of teaching in the light of their effectiveness in encouraging learning. The five parts of the book will look at particular aspects of the subject manager’s job and provide ideas which will aid the development of the knowledge, skills and concepts needed to carry out the responsibility.
