ABSTRACT

The prospect of genetic modification in sport has already begun to provoke a range of concerned voices within and outside of the sporting community to express their views on the subject. The diversity of these bodies is uniquely important to the discussion about doping in sport, just because this matter is already demonstrating that this is not only a sporting issue. Since 2000, there have been a number of academic and professional meetings that have devoted time to the consideration of genetic modification in sport. These include, but are not exhaustive of, the following:
