ABSTRACT

Tables 3.7 and 3.8 summarize managers’ views about employment relations issues, using the ‘agree’ responses only (the neither agree nor disagree, disagree and strongly disagree are not shown). There are two aspects of significance with AIS only. First, HI managers would rather consult directly with employees than with unions. Second, HI managers are more likely to introduce change without discussing its implications with employees. Elsewhere HI managers’ views are broadly in keeping with those in AIS and PSS, but there are some variations by size of workplace and sub-sector. A more complete HI breakdown is shown in Tables 3.9 and 3.10 as the basis for discussion.
