ABSTRACT
One of two Hyperborean maidens (the other was Arge) who accompanied Leto and her children Apollo and Artemis to Delos. After being held in great honour there, the two eventually died and were buried in Artemis’ sacred precint. Because of their failure to return home, the Hyperboreans ceased to send envoys to Delos. According to one story Artemis killed the giant Orion for raping Opis.
