Eldest son of Nausithous, king of the Phaeacians; he died shortly after his marriage. His daughter Arete married his younger brother Alcinous.

She bore to Helios, the patron god of the island, seven sons, one of whom, Cercaphus, became the father of the men after whom the island’s chief cities were named Ialysus, Cameirus, and Lindus.
