Aeschylus Greek tragic playwright, 525 to 456 BC; Athenian. Extant works: seven poetic dramas:- Persians, Seven against Thebes, Agamemnon, LibationBearers (Choephori) and Kindly Ones (Eumenides) (these three forming a trilogy, The Oresteia), Suppliant Women, and Prometheus. Many of his plays are lost.
