ABSTRACT
ALICE GEORGESCU In the past three years, Romanian theatre has faithfully reflected the dynamics
of present day Romanian society. It is a society which is still unstable, floating
aimlessly on the waters of an insecure present, between the temptations (and
also the tentacles) of a past from which it cannot be separated, and the rigours
of a future to which it is being forced to adapt.
