The new media are egalitarian in structure. Anyone can take part in them by a simple switching process.… Potentially, the new media do away with all the educational privileges and thereby with the cultural monopoly of the bourgeois intelligentsia.This is one of the reasons for the intelligentsia's resentment against the new industry.
