ABSTRACT
Until now, science and knowledge about officiating has only been available in a very specific manner – that is, when officiating provides an interesting question in a discipline of study or when one sport focuses resources on the role. Thus, most often there is an isolated perspective, from only one sport, or examining only one aspect of the role, with little comparison with other sports. This book thus represents a major step forward by bringing together knowledge from different disciplines and different sports.
