ABSTRACT
This chapter now builds upon the detailed data gathering stage outlined earlier. It assumes that:
medical issues have been eliminated;
the child’s current school placement is appropriate;
the therapist has established warm relationships and gained the confidence of the child, parents and school staff; and
sufficient information has been elicited to proceed to treatment planning with the therapist taking on a more directive interpretative role.
