ABSTRACT
Chapter 6 discusses repeated games. It proves that repeated games cause participates to heed long-term interests and thus escape singular game Prisoner’s Dilemmas and realize cooperation between rational people. We discuss the psychological and institutional elements of decisions to cooperate and how certain social norms within greater society overcome second-order Prisoner’s Dilemmas. These theories are very important for understanding the value of organizations and institutions in society.
