ABSTRACT
Chapter 13 concludes by bringing together and highlighting the major trends of the book. It explores how the three major regulatory themes of the book, that of adaptive management, precautionary principle and statism have been utilised by states in addressing the possibly conflicting activities of unconventional gas extraction and agriculture. It examines how some States have protected food sovereignty and food security in the face of growing interest in unconventional oil and gas.
