ABSTRACT

ME M B E R S H IP book No. 33 of the Wandervogel was issued to Hans Bliiher when he was a 14-year-old student at Steglitz gymnasium. His nickname was ‘Gestalt,’ and we know that in the following year Copalle excluded him from a trip to Westphalia, for lack of discipline and other unspecified reasons. But Fischer defended young Bliiher, and a quarrel ensued which eventually led to the first great schism in the movement.
