ABSTRACT

After the war the Scouts underwent a minor revolution analogous to that which occurred elsewhere in the movement; the adult leaders were deposed and younger members took over. But, unlike what happened in the Wandervogel, their revolution did not stop there. New forms of activity and new ideas were developed which were to have a decisive influence upon the whole German youth movement and, in effect, to shape the whole course of its development between 1919 and 1933.
