ABSTRACT

We have seen that the mind has gradually grown along the lines of its past thinking, and since this is so we can manifestly direct the lines of its future growth. It is within our power to regulate and control the thoughts that come into mind and go to the formation of character; this thought-control we can manage in a general way, but we can also accomplish it in a more precise and scientific manner through the agency of suggestion. The use of suggestion means that in a very definite way we determine upon the inculcation of certain helpful ideas in mind; we design in advance in thought, and then proceed to bring that design into being.
