ABSTRACT

If we now summarise in a scheme all that has hitherto been said, we do not imply that we are indicating, much less prescribing, the only way in which in the most practical manner a psychological analysis of writing, offering the highest attainable degree of penetration and founded on physiological observation, may be obtained. But we think the scheme recommended here will prove practical for the novice, as it prescribes the necessity of self-control and a constant reconsideration of all previous phases of the analysis and, if carried out conscientiously, would certainly exclude fundamental errors.
