Is India still ‘an emerging power’?

The cultural history of India is filled with lofty spiritual sentiments that have come down since the days of ancient civilization. While it would be misleading to suggest that India lives in her past, several ideas stemming from that tradition have been the cornerstones of India’s culture and have certainly affected its foreign policies.
