ABSTRACT

IN our last chapter we dealt with the investigation of the offender’s conscious mind. Much excellent work has been, and is still being, done in this direction. Much still remains to be done, for the ground has, as yet, hardly been scratched over. The author would not wish to detract, even in the least degree, from the value of the information which is thus obtainable. But we now have to enter upon the consideration of an even more important matter, the investigation of the offender’s unconscious mind.
