The Order of the Maulavīs

The founder of this eminent order of Darvishes is Maulānā Jalālud-Dīn Muhammad al-Balkhī ar-Rūmī. ¹ It is commonly called by foreigners, ‘The Dancing or Whirling Darvishes’, from the peculiar nature of the devotions.
