ABSTRACT
The concatenation of ideas which has been discussed in the previous chapter appears still more clearly in the exposition of the theodicy. The movement of the Kadarites was followed immediately by that of the Mu’tazilites, for the discussions of predestination and free will could not fail to call forth the question of the justice of God, and the latter must necessarūy lead to that of His essence and qualities.
