ABSTRACT
The authoritarian boss is a bully in a business suit. And just like bullies on the playground, authoritarians often end up "king of the hill" in the work world. Authoritarianism is management by tyranny, or management by terror. The authoritarian is a finger-pointing, fist-pounding, fear-inspiring control freak. His or her favorite motivational phrase is "do it because I said so," and when you do, only expect to hear from the authoritarian if you screw up. Authoritarians expect, they demand, total obedience and submission.
