ABSTRACT

Sports programming consumes presenters – BBC’s broadcasts of the London 2012 Olympics were the most comprehensive ever, with live transmissions of every sport from every venue throughout the day. Their presenting and commentary teams covered archery, diving, equestrian, gymnastics, hockey, rowing, sailing, table tennis, water polo, wrestling and much more. Channel 4 scheduled more than 500 hours of sport during the 12-day 2012 Paralympic Games and 50% of the presenting team were disabled, including former Paralympic wheelchair basketball medallist Ade Adepitan, middledistance runner Danny Crates, and swimmer Rachael Latham.
