ABSTRACT

I spent nearly 30 years as a freelance TV Director working on hundreds of different commissions and programmes for a variety of production companies and broadcasters. To find jobs I relied on self-promotion, finding and keeping contacts, self-marketing and creating my own opportunities. During the whole of this period I was almost always in regular work, generating TV ideas, becoming attached to TV shows, carving an exciting and successful career in mainstream TV directing mainly for the BBC and ITV.
