ABSTRACT

Recall that there are five phases to the instructional design process, and that in each phase, we visit each of the essential elements of instructional design, adding details and performing tasks as required by the deliverables of each phase. In this chapter, we will examine the learners. Learners are the first element we consider because the outcomes, activities, and assessments are designed for them. While evaluation doesn’t directly impact the learner, the evaluation examines the success of the instruction and, ultimately, effects future learners (see Figure 2.1).
